Is the future **agrarian**? Do you think about the role of farmers in your life? Do you garden? Do you shop at farmers' markets?

My garden doesn't look like this photo anymore. Colder nights are upon us here in Ottawa, Canada, and the days are getting shorter as the earth gently tilts on its axis so that the sun can shine its rays upon others, granting wishes for greater warmth and longer daylight hours to those of you in the global south. It's time for your farmers to sow and grow, while ours finish harvesting and start to let their fields lie **fallow**.

Regardless of where we live, we all obsess a lot these days about getting off our phones, about doing more things with our hands. Gardening is certainly a good way to go offline. Ever tried texting with yet dirt all over your hands? Yeah, I don't recommend it.

To be fair, I **am fully cognisant** that not everyone has the space, opportunity, or interest in gardening. I get it. For years, I had just a small, urban balcony on which I grew a pot of basil. I **fully expect** that one day I'll come **full circle** and live once again in an apartment, where I'll remember fondly and longingly my days of plunging my hands into cold dirt and compost. We'll see!

This new episode of **Worth of Listen** presents a Netflix TV series I watched this spring, plainly and aptly called *"This is a gardening show."* Even if you don't garden, you DO eat, and you study English. This show offers you a look into the world of **small-scale** farmers—not boring, trust me! It also has plenty of opportunities to hear conversations that will test your humour, along with your English.

So whether you're anticipating the arrival of local strawberries in the southern hemisphere, or like me, getting ready to enjoy the abundance of fall pumpkins here in the north, I urge you to give "*This is a gardening show*" TV series a try.

As always, I love hearing from you. Tell me what you think of the show after you've watched it.

Tata for now,

P.S. Because I like to drop hints of language you might find interesting, I highlight language in this letter that you might want to investigate independently.
