⏳ The countdown is really on! Hear You Go podcast is winding down, while the first two Worth a Listen short audios are drafted and waiting for me to start recording. I hope to send the first one in early August.

For today:

1️⃣ Below you’ll find information on the penultimate episode of Hear You Go podcast, and our wrap party on August 15th. This free event will bring together fans of the podcast to share the episodes that made an indelible mark upon them or their students.

2️⃣ If you’re interested in going down rabbit holes and exploring advanced English slowly with me in the coming months, I have spaces available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons only. Add your name here if you want to talk to me about how I can help you. Do check out my website too for more information, and to read testimonials from former and current clients.

Penultimate: (adj.) the second to last in a series of something

An indelible mark/impression: indelible is an adj. meaning permanent, something that can’t be washed away or erased. It collocates with indelible mark & impression

To go down a rabbit hole: when we go down a rabbit hole, we begin from something small that, upon closer inspection, takes us deeper in our search for meaning

To pay homage to smth/someone: a collocation meaning that we are demonstrating a respect and admiration to someone or something

Episode 99 😲 of Hear You Go podcast is called: Friends of All Ages, and in it, I pay homage to a dear friend of mine who passed away last November. Her name was Jean, and she was in her mid-90s when she died. The episode will answer the question now on your mind: how did I come to be friends with a woman so much older than me? I also share a TV series recommendation: the show is called Hacks, and it’s about, among other things, an intergenerational friendship between two women.

As I say in the episode, friendship is sacred to me. Friends are the people we choose to be in our lives, and their impact on us really does shape us, perhaps even more so than our families. Over the years, I’ve tried to encourage all of us to treasure our friends. I hope this episode helps you see a different kind of friendship in a new light.
